M/S Selandia
– Queen of the Oceans |
On the 17th of february 1912 the worlds first oceangoing dieseldriven motorship, M/S Selandia, was delivered to Østasiatiske Kompagni. The builder, Burmeister & Wain, now MAN Diesel & Turbo, had created a world sensation in cooperation with ØK and the inventor of the dieselengine, Rudolf Diesel. With one stroke, the era of the high-smoking steamships was over, and replaced by ships like M/S Selandia, the chimney resolve ship, which excited everyone and revolutionized shipping.
Exponent Stougaard has developed the 100 years anniversary exhibition of Selandias in DieselHouse (the museum of the history of the dieselengine). From the planning of the historical rebates and exhibits, the conceptual development and graphic design to the production of the unique elements of exhibition, which all in all create the right context of rawnes and dieselsmell, catching the spirit of 1912. We solved the task of printing, cutting and fitting foil text directly on the walls, decorate the panels and install exterior banners, as part of the colorful universe around Montana. |
